Wayne Kamitaki is the third generation president of HouseMart, a family-owned and operated parent company of more than 30 Ace and Ben Franklin Craft stores across 4 states. Wayne will talk about the challenges of hiring outside key managers and board members. Faced with the growing needs of his family’s business, Wayne and his siblings and cousin decided to look for management expertise outside of the family. This decision came about as a result of their generational transition planning and their desire to strengthen their management team. Wayne intends to share the thought processes and discussions that they went through as they considered doing so.
