Led by renowned family business experts Dennis Jaffe and Peter Begalla, this two-day workshop brings together Hawaiʻi family business members across generations for an interactive, strategy-focused experience.
Through a mix of expert presentations, small group discussions, and hands-on exercises, participants will explore how to:
• Build strong cross-generational alliances
• Identify and evolve core family values and culture
• Develop governance structures that support both the business and the family

Dr. Dennis Jaffe – Dr. Jaffe, a San Francisco-based advisor to families about family
business, governance, wealth, and philanthropy, is Senior Research Fellow at Banyan Global Family Business Advisors. He is an author of:

The Family Firm Institute awarded him the 2017 International Award for service, and in 2005 the Beckhard Award for service to the field. In 2020 he was awarded a special commendation as an individual thought leader in the field of wealth management by the Family Wealth Report. His global insights have led to teaching or consulting engagements in Asia,
Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. He has a BA degree in Philosophy, MA in Management, and Ph.D. in sociology, all from Yale University, and professor emeritus of organizational systems and psychology at Saybrook University in San Francisco.

As a consultant, Peter works directly with family enterprises on governance, board development & evaluation, leadership succession, family dynamics, and next gen development. Peter is the founder and president of JPB Consulting Group which has a national and international client footprint across multiple sectors: CPG, wood products, oil & gas, entertainment, single family offices, and commercial construction.
As the Conference Chairman for Family Business Magazine’s Transitions Conference, Peter brings together multi-generational family enterprises so they can share their stories, learn from each other, and develop practices that will sustain the family enterprise for generations. Other conferences include Private Company Governance Summit, Family Business Generational Wealth, and Character of the Corporation.
Peter taught Family Business courses at Stetson University for over 13 years, covering topics such as strategic leadership in family firms, personal development, and consulting to family enterprises. In 2000, he co-founded a continuing education company with his father, building custom learning platforms and delivering certified online courses to licensed professionals nationwide.
