Shidler College of Business

Benefits

Member firms, as well as the involved family members, will receive valuable benefits though the Family Business Center of Hawaii’s programs, resources, and network.

Extended Programs

Through the extended programs featuring nationally recognized authorities, participants explore solutions to the varied and challenging issues facing family businesses. These programs not only offer insight and counsel of well qualified featured speakers, but also provide opportunities for participants to have direct and personal access to the speakers. In addition, the programs provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experiences with members of other family businesses.

Meetings

The bimonthly lunch meetings provide members the opportunity to interact with each other and exchange information, ideas, and experiences. Each meeting features an educational presentation on practical and relevant information that can be applied to a family enterprise, or an inspiring personal family business story that gives encouragement and insight.

Informational Videos

Members will have access to video recordings of speaker presentations.  These videos are password-protected and are made available in the members only page.

Next Generation Peer Group

The Next Generation Peer Group aims to help next gen-ers transition into leadership roles within their family businesses by exposing them to various issues that may arise. The benefits include in-depth discussions of critical issues in a confidential forum with peer support for personal growth and relationship building with others. The group meets approximately four times a year.
