Aloha Tofu Factory, Inc. is a third-generation, kama‘aina company that started in 1950 by Kamesaburo and Tsuruko Uyehara. It is the largest tofu manufacturer in Hawai‘i. Paul Uyehara, the current president and one of the founders’ grandchildren, now operates the company on behalf of the family. He will share the company’s early history, various challenges (both from outside and from within) and hopes for the future.
