About the speaker:
Frieda S. Takaki, retired as President and CEO of Chart Rehabilitation of Hawaii, Inc. in 2017 after 37 years of employment. She purchased the company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 2001. Prior to Chart, Takaki served in various roles at Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., Wailea Development, Inc., Manoa Shopping Center, Paul Simpson Realty, Inc., and Telecheck International, Inc.
Takaki served on the national board of The ESOP Association for 15 years, becoming Chair of the organization in 2010. She also served as President of the Hawaii Chapter of the ESOP Association for 10 years; Chair of the National Employee Owners Foundation, and trustee and board member of many local ESOPs. Takaki is a national speaker, traveling all over the U.S. to speak to various ESOP companies. Most recently she assisted a company on Guam to implement their ESOP. She presently serves as a board member of largest ESOP in Hawai‘i. She is a recipient of the Life Service Award from the national ESOP Association.
