Charles M. Cooke formed Charles M. Cooke, Ltd. in 1898 by incorporating his and his wife, Anna’s, holdings. By forming the corporation, the Cookes were able to keep their assets from being made public when they passed and the estate was kept intact for the enjoyment of their family. The patriarch’s clear foresight allowed for the establishment of the private Cooke Foundation, Ltd., which has continued to engage the family in supporting the community for six generations. Three of today’s fifth and sixth generation Trustees will share their stories on how the legacy and stewardship of the family foundation have influenced their families and our community.
